These instructions provide the steps to view the current Atlas map centre point in Google Maps or Google Earth.

Google Maps

  1. To view the current atlas map centre in Google Maps click the view in Google Map icon as shown in Figure 1. The resulting map, shown in Figure 2, will appear in a new window.

Google Earth

  1. If Google Earth is installed on your computer, the current atlas map centre point can be viewed with detailed satellite imagery in 3D by clicking the 'view in Google Earth' icon as shown in Figure 3.

  3. A download window will appear from which you should be able to open the file immediately by clicking the 'Open' button. Alternatively, download the file to your computer by clicking the 'Save' button, then open by double clicking on it. The Google Earth result for this example is shown in Figure 4.
